The only concentration camp on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It was created by the Nazi German army in 1940-1945.
Built as a place of mass extermination for approximately 1.1 million Jews from all over Europe, as well as 140-150 thousand Poles, 23 thousand Roma, 12 thousand Soviet POWs, and victims of other nationalities. In 1947, part of the complex was turned into a museum, which is a monument and a testimony documenting German crimes in occupied Poland.

Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Factory – a factory established in 1937 as a place of production of enamel and tin products.
It was leased and then taken over by a German entrepreneur Oskar Schindler in 1939 as the German Enamelware Factory – Deutsche Emailwarenfabrik (DEF), run by Schindler until 1945. The factory is located at 4 Lipowa street, in Cracow’s Zabłocie. In his factory, Schindler employed the Jews threatened with extermination – they were then placed on the so-called Schindler’s list, which saved them from the Holocaust.
This tourist attraction involves rafting down the picturesque Dunajec River, which forms a part of Poland’s southern border.
